Every few weeks or so, the Red Rat sets off to do some mandatory shopping. Buying things like spare swords and staffs, books and scrolls of lore, quirky potions and oils, and maybe most importantly... homemade pickled olives and carrots. For snacking.
Tis also a prime opportunity for selling some of his dungeon plunder and "legitimately acquired" gem stones. He could go into the city's square to make such transactions, but the Great Rakeer is far too "popular" and wouldn't want to make a scene.
This is why Rakeer only does business with one certain hare. Tosin the Traveling Merchant!
He has everything that the Red Rat requires, including the act of being discreet! Which is quite convenient for the rogue bard. Besides, they go back quite a ways. Doing business is so much more fun when its with friends!
However, there is ONE thing that Tosin finds most odd about his friend. The Red Rat has this cheeky habit of teasing and insisting to "examine" his large pinky soles! BEFORE he buys anything!
Though he's very shy about it, he indulges the paw enthused rat on this, since he's so polite about it. Its the silly TEASING that truly gets to him!
As Rakeer sees it, it's just business as usual ;}
