Speedpainting: Enchantment
Third speedpainting commission for

I was about to type a story, but then I realized I can't write. LOL. Toorak always goes on the coolest adventures, and this particular instance is no exception. <3
Photoshop CS4 + Intuos 3... took 4 hours (give or take 30 minutes, and excluding all the chat time during LS... lol!).

I use a lot of downloaded brushes, as well as making my own~ In my FAQ it has a lot of download links to some of the ones I use often.
I need to package the ones I've made one day (and maybe try harder in making GOOD ones, lmao)... I love sharing, but it'll take some separating out because I don't want to take credit for others' work. ;)

It definitely is. I forget who it was, but they put it rather nicely; It's intimidating. Not in regards to 'oh god this artist is better than me no one will like my art' as much as...
This is the sort of quality I want to live up to. It's incredibly impressive, and honestly every piece you submit fills me with equal amounts of joy and envy. They are so vibrant and packed full of life, and constantly makes me reevaluate my own work.
It's just.. guh. That's the best I can explain it, lol.

It really means a lot to read that. ;3; Actually, I'm having trouble finding words to reply with (without sounding like a whore or something, lmao).
A part of me feels I don't deserve praise like that, since I have my own struggles with art. I'm really glad you feel inspiration more than negative feelings... while I was depressed years back I had zero drive/inspiration when I looked at really amazing art (it was sort of a "why even bother" thing). Once I got more positive and stopped comparing myself to other artists constantly, it was much easier to focus on art and find what I enjoyed about it. :'D
Didn't mean to steer the conversation into being about myself, LOL... but yes! You have excellent anatomy from what I've seen in your gallery... I'd love to see you experiment more and do "bigger" paintings! I'm sure they'd be fantastic.

Those are shoes I've been in before, and have to make an active effort not to fall into again. Don't ever sell yourself short though; We're all terrible critics towards ourselves, y'know? We all struggle a little bit. Of course, I guess it wouldn't be right to be 100% comfortable in your art. We should always want to be better, right?
And thank you so much! I'd love to do some more experimenting, when I have a big chunk of free time. Draw something with a little more life for once.
(And gaah, thank you for the watch )

Thank you! My favorite size to do paintings on is 11x17"@300ppi. It's a good print size, works well on my laptop with very little slowdown (sometimes larger sizes can get a bit hairy if there are multiple layers or something), and when it shrinks it looks a *lot* cleaner than it would if I worked at some small size to begin with. :D

(a screenshot at 100%... in this painting I added some texture because I felt it helped a lot of the different elements be more consistent.)
So I'd say bigger is better. LOL. That way you can be a lot more loose/quick. :D

LOL! I defended my Macintosh computer's pride... now it can be free from computer racism.
*hugggg* You're most welcome, Toorak! I wish I went on half as many adventures as your character did, LOL... it looks like so much fun! ;3; Thanks for giving me the opportunity to draw him so many times~
