This is a short music cue I wrote for my new Skyrim video, "The Sahloknir Dilemma". This features a scene where the dragon Fahdonmul brainwashes Delphine into believing that he has killed Sahloknir when he hasn't. (i.e. he used SETSTAGE mq106 200)
I rather liked how it turned out, so I've published it here along with the finished dialogue (since it's only about 40 seconds long anyway).
This was sequenced in Cakewalk and Rosegarden, and tracked on a TASCAM TSR-8 1/2" multitrack, since it didn't need the full 24 tracks on the 2" machine.
The clock sound effect was done using a kitchen timer, close-miked with a matched pair of Behringer C2s. Instruments used were a Korg N1R vocal choir, Behringer Solina with the phaser enabled, and a GEM RP-X doing a Wurlitzer piano for the bass. The spacey noises were done using the Moog Voyager and processed with Audacity to reverse them and add the additional echo before being dumped onto tape as well.
It was mixed to 1/4" tape on a Studer A807. I also included a clip of the video soundtrack showing the whole thing, which was mostly done digitally in KdenLive. However, the transition from Corvo's khajiit voice to the dragon timbre was done on tape, by tracking it on the TSR-8 at maximum speed and gradually slowing it down to make it sound more draconic. It was cross-faded with Fahdonmul's voice in the video editor.
The finished video can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKjOoO-Zbno
