My twitch is because I'm not an anime artist. Never was. I've been drawing like this since I was a kid and that's before anime and manga was ever a big thing in the states. Actual anime/manga artists look at my work and say its 'western' and yet people in the states look at my work and call it 'anime' and yeah.. I really start to twitch.
I can relate, to be honest. I was being compared to other genres and artists...
I was also being asked on a pretty regular basis if I drew anime and when I said no, sometimes they'd ask why not... wut. But sometimes the twitchiness can make you act unreasonably snarky towards people who don't deserve it.

I got that. Yeah. Overall I just shrug and move on and try not to take the twitchyness out on others. Cause you can't change their minds on things. With the growing popularity of the manga, and alot of them picking up western styles, people are likely to start calling everything that isn't obviously Disney or such 'anime'
