Remember that 'Ferrona the Husky' gal from Patron sketch requests back in August? (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/62124132/) Don't blame you if you don't, but the same patron who'd requested her design wanted to visualize the steps she took to GET to that stuffy, metal-bending Restoration persona. Funny enough, I'm actually releasing this before the sketch for this month that had me drawing Ferrona in her old GUN fatigues, which was done well before this public submission... release schedules be wonky sometimes.
Ferrona's a fun little side corner to the Returners universe though; as the client outlined, she used to be a member of the Guardian Units of Nations under Abraham Tower and fought bravely against the Eggman Empire's invasion- buuut as you can see, it didn't pan out in the long run and she was turned into an 'Egg Drone', a mobian brainwashed by Dr. Starline to serve alongside the doctor's badniks in the War to Take Back the Planet.
Post-war, Tails would attempt surgical experiments to undo the brainwashing and succeeded in restoring Ferrona's self-agency and... some of her old personality, but the process damaged her optic nerves and requires her to wear glasses to correct some nearsightedness. But hey, that may be a story for another time, if that patron sketch ever becomes one I feel like coloring.

I'm sure she resisted the best she could, but everyone breaks eventually. She looks cool both before and after, though I do really dig the Eggman uniform.

It's rare to find folks who enjoy both the surface 'sultry' appeal of TF/mentalchange as well as the storytelling going on, so I'm always grateful for that kind of two-fold engagement!
And who knows, maybe we'll be seeing more of these 'Egg Drone' uniforms before the end of the year~

It's certainly true that Starline's hypnosis has been enhanced by the Phantom Ruby, potentially creating a feedback loop where the illusions he conjures help convince the victim of hypnotic programming and the programming solidifies the illusions. But he needs his victims in a restrained position to really take full advantage of it...
Still, Ferrona's a lucky case; she'll recover herself in due time to be a part of the Restoration. At least, she'll recover her morality, if not that short spiky haircut...
