Slow and Unsteady (2025 Tickletober Story 16)
It is now Day 16, and with that we passed the midway point!
Today's prompt was Curse, and I decided to write a story about a Zangoose who foolishly believed that using the move of this exact name, which raises the user's attack and defense in exchange for lowering their strength, would help him fight against hit eternal foe, Seviper. Needless to say, it doesn't go as planned...
...It's actually probably a good thing for him that neither realised Tickle has the exact opposite effect ^^'

Always neat to integrate Pokémon moves into play here! I would feel like the Seviper would realize the curse effects being decreased if she kept using her tail, but at the end of the day, she still had her victory. I suppose the Zangoose can consider himself lucky that his life was spared, even despite the humiliation. All the better for when he has the opportunity to strike back!
Funnily, back when writing this story, I myself actually completely forgot that Tickle is an actual move (even if one Seviper can't technically learn) and that it has the opposite effect to Curse - hence why I kinda handwaved it in the description.
Still, you might be right about Seviper actually catching on and deciding that leaving him humiliated might be better than killing him. And who knows? Perhaps if he loses their next fight, he might end up becoming a longer term tickle toy...
When having Pokemon use their powers in tickle fights, I tend to focus more on their lore than game mechanics... still, looking at movesets and abilities can sometimes give some fun storytelling ideas - not just for tickling (though that's certainly one of the avenues where this holds true) ^^
