Yeah, it's an ability she was given out of nowhere starting on a Knighthood page where she turns into a giantess werewolf because potatoes.

In fairness, maybe it's because she's never really NEEDED to show her powers yet, as she's just had to use her agility and strength. It would seem that in 'Knighthood' (and a few parts of 'Las Lindas'), the powers of the Crests are about to be shown much more.

It's so funny how the writers are too lazy to set things up, but they really want to perceived as though they're actually cooking with the story. Like there's just no fucking way Geecku wouldn't be playing around with the ability constantly if she had it.

Had they just gone back and looked at their own lore there's literally an ATHP that shows that Geecku didn't even know about the flower on her head, so you could have wrote it so that she didn't unlock the shape shifting ability yet and could have written it so that she's gained it during her time in the temple. It would have even made that hide and seek game with Drake make way more sense, because you could say that Drake barely managed to pass because Geecku herself was just learning how her own clan power works.

But no, they had to do the lame thing of trying to make it seem like something that wasn't there was always there when they clearly don't have the skill or required pieces to pull that off lol

Honestly it's par for the course with Las Lindas at this point. For over 15 years, this comic has blatantly been written on the fly while they continue pretending it was all planned this way years in advance.

She technically didn't NEED to even recently, the issue isn't necessity it's that shape shifting (for presumably no cost) is one of the most versatile abilities one could have. She would have been doing it all the time if they had thought of the idea back then.

In fairness, one artwork states that she doesn't really 'shapeshift'. It's more her 'adapting' and 'evolving' temporarily. Her shapeshifting ALWAYS has her looking like her default form, after all. She merely takes on the traits of other species to fit her situation. Given that we haven't seen her in any combat-related situations until recently (like in Knighthood), it makes sense why she wouldn't use the ability yet.

This very ATHP makes that moot though, she can clearly control it to a really high degree to the point of being able to mass shift into a huge werewolf thing or a tiny squirrel creature. It just doesn't make any sense, especially for this character, to not just be using that all the time.

I suppose. Again, I don't think she ever saw the reason to do all that form changing until recently. That's the best explanation I've got for this plothole.
