The Great White Deer was the most famous and leading legend in all of White Deer Park. He was often consulted for his advice by Fox and the other Farthing wood animals. But otherwise he was a very good friend of Fox, both he and his herd were very deeply grateful to be warned of the poachers last time. And as time went on The Great White Deer became much older and more watchful, but was just as healthy and strong for his age.

But just in the spring, he died of poisoning at the stream, when he was going to drink water, then he fell dead by the side of the river. All the animals, including the animals of farthing wood, were of course devastated by the grief of The Great White Deer's death. For he was the only one who could protect all the animal inhabitants and also listen to their opinions and views at that time.
