Inspired by MiltFox over on devArt, this is my take on the iconic blue snails found in Maplestory, both classic and modern game versions.

I came up with this because unlike the simpler 2D side scrolling game, hand drawn animations can simulate our own 3D world and as such, I needed to draw more poses than just the left and right facing ones... which incidentally need to be edited to appear more like their isometric and upward facing and downward facing clones with heavier line weights or thickness. I made left and right facing snails first... so yeah... gotta go back and fix 'em.

Anyway I like how they came out, even if I will still need in-between sprites to convey movement, like bobbing eyes and scrunching tail or lower body... and then there's the matter of taking damage from the adventurers... showing the pain emotions and death scenes... and... the HP bars dropping... and the other game effects...

I'm finding out that frame by frame animation REALLY IS WORK, but I think I can manage it. :D
