Hello thar!
If you remember from #15 (avert your eyes from the time difference in upload!!!), Polo was told by Mason - a chocolate lab with a love for One Piece - to head on over to the backroom of the supermarket on a quest to find a... "Large feline fella with the orange lanyard." Polo, being the good dog that he is, made his way past some other employees of the establishment an Ocelot and a Deer - and sat down on a chair waiting until he found said feline fella.
Looks like he's been waiting a long time, because he's extremely bored hunched over with a "non professional posture" propping up his muzzle, all the while humming away at a nursery rhyme from when he was a pup. Maybe he's looking at the door from where he came and wondering if this whole employment business is worth it enough to just not walk out. If he does that, say goodbye to smiles on his parents faces from their young pup getting a job and welcome the wrath of his Mom and Dad XD He's not using his phone to cure his boredom because that would show unprofessionalism!
Poor guy is too caught up in his thoughts humming away to notice the lion manager right next to him! Bet the big cat didn't even sneak up on Polo, just walked up normally keys jingle and jangling with every step haha. The lion more than likely huffed a few times in astonishment that the dog with his keen nose didn't smell the scent of a wild cat, who knows. The stare looks more like the feline manager is reading the mutt before he makes his presence known. Why is he dressed so nicely? What is he singing? Is he even vaguely conscious? What do his parents look like to produce a coat like that XD Polo's info sits right in a folder the lion is holding in his great paw, wonder what kind of questions would be asked for an employee of this supermarket?
Based on what you've seen so far, it appears it's employees are only anthro animals devoid of humans - very interesting...
Plus I don't think the notice on the wall in the employee only area would ever apply to humans. Or would be enough of a problem with humans to where the store needed to place a sign stating not to do so lmao.
I hope Polo doesn't get startled enough to yip when he gets told to get up, and that his interview goes well! Maybe the lion's resting face just looks so mean, and he's actually a chill dude when they begin to conversate. Either way, the large feline is who the dog needs to convince in word and action to get the job! Great first impressions Polo XD
I hope ya'll are looking forward to the next pages as I am. It's gonna be good, I promise! I may or may not have 2 more panels to upload, we'll see. Oh and I tried to come up with a nursery rhyme that anthro canines would have grown up with. Who knows, maybe it's actually one passed down from within Polo's family for generations. I love little ideas like this, I wonder if other animal families have their own quirks depending on species that are unique to them.
I really need to put this comic into its own folder and with proper navigation. Another thing to do haha.
Thank you, have a wonderful rest of your day!
