This in a way is a reference picture. This was also inspired by the RP that was spawned from the previous drawing Lost In The Snow. Owen is lost in a blizzard in Norther Canada and is attacked by the ice demon Krystallos. He's hit hard by an icicle attack that nailed him from above and from the side. When I wrote this part of the story Owen's clothes got torn up badly as he did as well. One of my favorite things about this is how his coat sleeves on both arms are hanging by a thread and a few circles around his arms that didn't rip off. I also got to draw him from the back which I rarely do. I love the back view of this so much. The whole upper back of his coat is severed and hanging lose. I love the feeling of pain in this and yes he's pretty much spent and passes out after this point. What little protection he had against the cold is pretty much taken from him.
