Karamador: Tourney in Aborku, Page 138

Sir Kiljaos the lion paladin and Ydia the chanting goshawk bard have returned to Sir Kiljaos's tent. To pass time Sir Kiljaos examines the shaligram he got from Sir Angsa the swan knight earlier and chats about the effectiveness of such good luck charms with Ydia.
Meanwhile Zak the fox squire exits Castle Aborku. He was unable to catch the spy and the assassin he found in the castle but got the instruction scroll they dropped. Zak tries to figure out the strange writing on the scroll in order to stop the villains' schemes and get thanks from Princess Anima for it. Figuring out the coded writing of the scroll is not that easy after all but Zak still refuses to show the scroll to Sir Kiljaos and Ydia for various reasons...

I mean, he's not wrong with their thoughts of his "ill intent" but, they may forgive him. If just reveals the truth.

He’s caught between a rock and a hard place due to not just selfishness for keeping the glory of stopping the assassins, but the risk of no one trusting him due to being a well known liar and thief. This whole situation has grown more complicated. And Zak being a vital figure and liability in this makes it more dire.
