I'm sure I wasn't the first to dream up this gag, but I really can't think of previous examples, weirdly enough.
At least one guy thought this was supposed to be Miss Bianca, but that wasn't really what I had in mind.

That is a whole different (funny) animal of which I was unaware, thank you! Once again I'm bummed that Amazon scotched the digital versions of Rock's books. I could load up my tablet and take 'em anywhere, but I guess Jeff Bezos wasn't making enough money off of it.
I have thought about asking RB if I could make a digital copy that he could personally sell(the comic belongs to him, I would legally need his permission in writing to try) as ZIP file, but I suspect a lot of people would complain about how basic it would be. I don't know how to do anything fancy with HTML editing. People could PayPal him 1 dollar, and he emails then the zip file, Easy, but I suspect they would be upset about it not being animated, or having to click Next every page, or each comic being a separate file instead of 1 ZIP with all the comics in it, or it not being compatible with VR headset, or something else......
I download old comic books from a copyright-free site, Comic Book Plus, all the time. The comics are out of copyright for various reason, being of a certain age or abandoned by the copyright holder (if the owner fails to renew it becomes public domain).
One problem is, some of these scans date back to the early days of optical scanning and they're awful. Others are inconsistently scanned -- each page has different dimensions. I developed a workflow that normalizes the pages (makes them all the same height and width) and gets rid of some of the worst flaws and distractions. How long have I been at this? Since before I had a scanner of my own; 15 years, anyway.
If you take a zip program (or one of the similar formats) you can compress a folder full of JPG or PNG files and change the file extension. Many reader programs will recognize the package as a comic book and you can read it directly on almost any device that supports the format with an app.
