I've been using white space a lot more in my comic. This is from an upcoming Cosmic Dash page. I see these sorts of panels like being little statues or dioramas taken from the comic.

It is part of a larger sequence with this character talking to another inside a catacomb found underneath a fishing village.
Ultimately, the panel is a bit plain by itself, but in the context of the larger page, it offers some breathing room and isolates the speaker so he can get the vital information across.
