Peter is trying to train up to be a warrior to compete with his older brother Chase, or because he simply wants to protect him and his family?
The story raises an interesting point. If Peter's training is just as dangerous as real fighting, then it would make sense for Chase to try and stop him from injuring himself. But does Chase really have the right to prevent Peter from becoming stronger? What line has to be crossed in order for Peter to officially be considered a danger to himself? That his endless pursuit of strength is now considered foolish?
The final closing segment of the story seems to suggest that Peter should involve his brother more in the training regimen so that Chase can prevent Peter from going too far and becoming a danger to himself. A good compromise!
