Ever have those races where everything's going your way? Perfect drifts, good item pulls, front running and everything. You got this race in the bag. You round the last corner, ready to claim victory.

But then, you hear it. The whooshing sound of impending doom. It gets closer and closer, until suddenly, it reaches you. It hovers above your head, circling around like a vulture does when it finds a carcass in the desert before it begins its descent. You look ahead, noticing you are mere feet away from the finish line. The black and white checkered line now seemed miles away as the blue shell makes its impact.

'It isn't fair! I was so close!' you think to yourself, as you're engulfed in the violent, azure explosion. The other racers, who managed to catch up as you're carelessly tossed like a rag doll from the blue shell attack, pass you, leaving you eating their dust.

Victory was once again snatched away from you. But that is the very nature of Mario Kart.
