The Magpie is a thief of some renown - at least, as much renown as a shadow who has never been caught can have. Nothing is out of her reach, and there is nothing safe from her wits and skills.

Things changed a little when the world went weird, though. Nobody knows for sure what set things off. The solar eclipse visible from the entire world. The particle accelerator overloading. The UFO crash. Whichever thing triggered it, suddenly people began getting powers. SUPER powers.

The Magpie became one of those gifted. She became a true Power Broker, able to see the shiny powers that others have, and to steal them, keep them, or give them to others, at least for a time. She has never been content to leave anything she wants behind, though, and after more training and practice, she found she was able to steal things that were even less tangible than that. With the proper mindset and a good plan, she can disable a pesky security guard by Taking His Breath Away, then cause a distraction for the rest of her team by going for an Attention Grab, finally making her escape by Stealing Away. The world is truly her oyster!

Of course, for all her skill in evading attention, there's always someone who has more skill, or at least more resources, and she found herself approached to join a special team: the Agents of F.O.R.T.UN.E - the Foundation to Observe, Research, and Track UNexpected Events. It was a strange offer, to be sure. At best, she's a Thief with a Heart of Brass; she's no hero, nor does she claim to be or even want to be one. But after the world went strange, there are definitely people worse than her around. So, at least for the moment, she has answered the call!

There are a lot of shiny powers out there to claim, after all.
