The Undead are the main enemies of Enchantia, the first enemies created in the lore of the RPG — the “main Villains” of Enchantia. The Undead are made up of monstrosities created from the bodies of the dead. The most common undead creature, which makes up the main urban, labor, and military workforce of the Undead, is the “Reanimates.” The name Reanimates is my amateur attempt — without translators or ChatGPT — to translate the Italian words “Rianimati,” “resuscitati,” and similar terms, which would translate as Revived, Resurrected; in other words, terms used to describe “resurrected dead bodies.” I was genuinely convinced that “Reanimates” was the correct English translation for “Revived.” Even though the word is technically incorrect, it fits these creatures perfectly, so their official name remains Reanimates.
The “Reanimates” are Frankenstein-like monsters — creatures made from random pieces of other dead bodies, assembled haphazardly and reanimated (Frankenstein style). They are strong, feel no pain when dismembered, and can reassemble themselves. They also have a long stamina bar. However, they are stupid: their IQ is comparable to that of a caveman. Or, to use a Warhammer 40K comparison, they have the same IQ as the ORKS.
Reanimates should not be confused with Zombies. Zombies are reanimated dead bodies — simple empty shells with no intellect or soul. They wander around aimlessly and blindly attack animals and people. However, they are often controlled by necromancers like remote-controlled drones.
The aristocracy that rules the faction is made up of the most intelligent or sentient Undead — including Liches, Ghosts, Revenants, and so on. (No, no vampires — they have their own separate faction.). The Aristocrats are the ones in power, and they’re all in constant conflict with each other for dominance — but not like the Merfolk Queens. It’s more of a Game of Thrones-style struggle, with noble houses locked in power plays, betrayals, deception, secret relationships, arranged marriages, backstabbing, assassinations, and so on. Despite all of this, the true absolute ruler, the dark lord of the Undead, is the Wendigo King.
Wendigo King is not his true original name — his real name has been lost to time. Before becoming the Dark Lord of the Undead, he was the God of Death and ruler of the Underworld. He was overthrown by the other gods for abusing his power in the afterlife, and he attempted a cosmic coup against Heaven, which led the gods to make the drastic decision to divide the universe. Now, he has lost much of his original power. His body is dead and decayed, and he has become the Dark Lord of the Undead — a powerful necromancer who longs to create a world of Undead.
