Poppy and Diamond Snake - Inkey-Blue
I still don't know how I ended up doing this.
So, as you can see, most of my projects are game related and I did made some stories with Nintendo characters. I admit that I didn't played much of the Donkey Kong games growing up, but I considered them fun and when I saw the trailer for Donkey Kong Bananza, there was something that stood out: Poppy Kong.
I don't know, I just liked her design and as I found out the game included some precious stones, I remembered that I got an OC that is a snake made of gems, who is also an hypnotic creature. I also got motivated by...let's say, two friends who told me she was of my type.
For the drawing, once again I went with my friend inkey-blue , who as usual, did a great job.

She felt like nothing would stop her.
After her encounter with Donkey Kong and Pauline, and cutting all ties with VoidCo, Poppy Kong had a new beginning. She was accompanied by Grumpy Kong, who was now her business partner, and together with the miners on Ingot Island, they continued expanding their new construction business. Poppy was happy with how everything was going as in a couple of weeks, her new business was going pretty well, but being someone who was always driven to achieve more, she began looking for more opportunities to be more successful.
Poppy looked at all the options until she found out about a cave that was rumored to hold some of the most valuable and exquisite stones ever discovered, but what struck her as odd was that it seemed that no one on the island ever talked about that place. Rather than questioning her workers or anyone that could have information that could be of good use, she grabbed some tools and a bag and set out for that place that very night.
“If coming here means I could become the richest woman on this island and continue with my perfumes then I don’t mind having to do the heavy work,” the elegant woman said as she stopped in the cave’s entrance. She was surprised by how much the encounter with the two heroes made her change as she was doing something she never expected to do and yet, here she was. Once Poppy went inside, she was amused by her surroundings a the cave was full with all kinds of precious stones, ones that she knew they could be sold for a high price. “I don’t get it, I see diamonds and other kinds of precious stones. This place could turn anyone into someone rich. Why has no one told me about this cave before?”
Poppy found the information about that cave in a file that listed all the possible dangers in the island and even that barely had anything related to the cave full of gems, with the only description she got being that it was too risky to go there. This didn’t scare her nor stopped her from getting what she wanted as the elegant woman explored the cave until she stopped close to a few rocks that contained multiple diamonds of the most captivating colors of cyan and pink.
“I’ll take some for myself and others to sell later. I better do this quick, there still are a few parts of this cave that I need to explore,” Poppy said to herself as she took out the pick from her bag. She already made a plan in her mind, taking only the necessary and moving to the next part of the cave as fast as she could, but there was something she didn’t take into consideration as there was someone else in that cave.
Apart from the shiny and colorful stones, the place was inhabited by a snake made of gems, a creature that was also the guardian of the cave and unbeknownst to Poppy, he had followed her from the moment she arrived and to see her there was a delight. He quickly became interested in his guest, being captivated by her beauty and allure, and checked that she was all by herself before moving forward with his plan.
Poppy didn’t notice his presence, she was so concentrated about the gems that she was taking that she failed to notice that the colorful reptile moved behind the rock that was in front of her. “Just one more and then I’m stopping,” the business woman said while putting the gem she was holding in her bag. The gem-excavation was going pretty well and as this was the last time before moving to another part of the cave, Poppy continued mining until she found a big and colorful cyan, but the surprise came after that as it looked like the precious stone that was in front of her moved. “What the?!”
The snake unveiled himself to Poppy, emerging from that big stone and quickly showing why everyone considered that cave a dangerous place. He possessed a unique ability, one that he revealed to the seductive woman from the moment she looked directly at his eyes. The captivating spirals of orange, cyan and blue was enough to incapacitate anyone who dared to look directly and that was what happened to Poppy thanks to her not being fast enough to avert her gaze from his.
“Th-this is so…so…strange…” It was all she could say. The encounter with the snake of gems caught her off guard and for the first time in a long time, she didn’t know what to do. This wasn’t like her, she knew it, but at the same time, the hypnotic eyes took a toll over her. Poppy’s senses dulled and even if she tried her best to look away, she didn't have the strength to do it. “What…are you?”
The hypnotic snake ignored her question, instead being more focused on another thing wanted to do. His eyes already had Poppy how she wanted and just by looking at the business woman, with her sporting the same colorful spirals as him and remaining still, it was very unlikely that she would try to escape. While she wasn’t going anywhere, the colorful reptile still wanted to be closer to Poppy and carefully, he proceeded to coil her, enjoying the way she was shocked as her body got in contact with him.
“Wh-what…are you doing? What I can’t…look away…” he expected this reaction from her. Like some of the past women he encountered, the moment he felt his coils, Poppy almost awakened from her trance. If she wasn’t so overwhelmed by that blissful feeling, she would have a chance at breaking free from this, but her opportunity slipped away once she looked at the captivating colors yet again.
She was getting closer to the deepest point of her trance, letting everything else fade away while the only thing that remained was the spirals. It didn’t help that the snake tightened his coils, causing her to have a harder time resisting. Poppy wasn’t someone who gave up without a fight, even going against foes that were bigger and stronger than her, but in those cases, she won thanks to having a plan and being awake enough to know what to do, which of course, wasn’t the case.
“L-let me…go…now…” that was the last thing she said before letting her guard down. Her mind continued to believe that this was bad and anyone that saw her situation would have agreed, but thanks to her time looking at the captivating eyes of the snake of gems, the business woman was starting to remember one thing she forgot she wanted: a break. She couldn’t deny that her new company was going well and that she was happy for her second chance, but as she was putting a lot of time on her projects, the business woman barely got any time to rest. It was in her plans to take some time off after she was done with her expedition, but the hypnotic snake made her realize how much she needed this. “I l-like…this…”
She fought back one final time, being too profile to even admit her defeat, but this was a battle she just couldn’t win. Her vision was consumed by those spirals of orange and blue and the only thing in her mind was how much she was liking that strange feeling. This was the reaction the snake of gems wanted to see, always delighted to see how the ones that he encountered fell victims of his eyes and as Poppy finally submitted, he waited eagerly for her to know more about his guest.
“My name is Poppy Kong…” that he was a silent creature wasn’t an issue. Every time someone reached the deepest point of their trance, a trigger would automatically be activated. All Poppy had to do was to tell him the truth, including who she was and what she was doing there and as the snake of gems got an interest in her from the moment he saw her, he paid attention to everything she said. “I came…for the gems…that’s all I wanted…the gems…”
While he didn’t know much about the ones that lived outside the cave, the colorful reptile was aware about the worth of those precious stones. He also understood her reasons to be there, but at the same time, it wasn’t enough to let him overlook what she had done. Poppy did assure him that her desire for the gems was purely to benefit her new company, but she also came to his domains with the intention of taking something from him. Normally, with an intruder like her, the snake of gems might have been considered a punishment, but thanks to him being very interested in the business woman, he instead chose another option, one that he believed would benefit both of them. Using his tail to hold her head, Poppy was delighted again by the same spirals that guided her to that blissful state.
“Pretty colors…” she said, smiling as she was happy to see the same entrancing colors that put her in that state. By that point, the business woman dropped her original idea, forgetting her reasons for being there and just enjoying what was happening. From the moment he first saw her, the snake of gems knew how she was and while he also expected her to fight for a bit more, this still was good for him as the last induction was a long time ago and he was happy with this, even if it wasn’t the outcome he expected.
The second time looking at his gaze caused Poppy to feel more tired, and as according to her there was nothing to worry about, the seductive woman started to relax, with her not closing her eyes thanks to her desire to continue admiring those hypnotic colors. It was ironic that the only time she really tried to resist was when she wanted more of that feeling that she couldn’t get enough of but she didn’t mind and neither did the hypnotic snake.
Her expedition ended very differently from how she imagined. Instead of her coming back to the base with different kinds of gems, Poppy fell at the mercy of the colorful reptile and his hypnotic abilities. Everything that came before that didn’t matter anymore as her new company and her desire of becoming more successful paled compared to that blissful feeling that took over her. For the first time, she had nothing to worry nor wanted to think about anything else. As she rested in the snake’s coils, she smiled, thinking about the only thing that mattered at that moment.
