This is concept art: fenrir :) I am designing all the creatures from Rangnarök for a project-if it comes to life it will be awesome^^
My fenrir is not the typical fenrir, I find it boring, all of them are only wolves :/ He is a mixture of bear and hyena which I find matches as he lives in the north and animals in the north are chubby. The spikes around his head are inspiration from louis royo.
He has extra teeth xD
The next will be skalli and haati and the midgard monster :-D
This mythology of the north is so interesting, I extra got the edda for the project and love the stories in it.

I've found that people are very receiving when it comes to re-inventing mythological beings :3 There's usually some wiggle room in the original descriptions, and when there isn't it means the "correct interpretation" has been seen so many times that any and all new perspectives are welcome :D
