Watchdog... well, he had his heart and soul crushed. ^^;; *see the Watchdog: Fall of the masks*
After battling with his own meaning and purpose as a hero, he meets up with an Eastern minded hero named Hawkeye. Hawkeye help Eddy realize again what he thought a hero was supposed to symbolize, and this helped him build himself back up.
Still scarred from his mental clash and heart break, Watchdog's apparel changed. A large coat acts almost like a cape and adds armor to his body, and his pant legs and shirt are also upgraded to help protect him from harm. He now wears heavy two-toed boots to help with his agility and kicking damage both. He also adds to his arsenal an electric glove to act as a taser against his foes.
He also slicks his hair back when he's like this... Ashi did an AMAZING job, and i'm stunned. XD

speaking of which, I could almost see him taking out a bad guy then start pummeling them trying to get his frustration out ... only to take a breath, see what he did, then run away from the scene. After getting hurt that bad, it'd be hard to do what you were doing when it happened.
I know i know, he lost his bare paws. XD
There's a reason for it though. as he got a bit darker, he went for a more effective outfit, and the boots added a kick to his... kicks. And also let him cross rougher terrain without worry about damage.
... oh! Just think of when he gets back and takes them off. ;P <3
