RIP Dr Jane Goodall
Dr Jane Goodall passed away while on a speaking tour. Jane was internationally known for her field research with chimpanzees and the relationships between humans and animals. Her institute, Tchimpounga Chimpanzee rehabilitation center in the Republic of Congo. Best known for rescuing and rehabilitating Chimpanzees. I remember watching National Geographic specials on her work with the primates and largely thanks to her, the great apes and chimps are better understood. Her discoveries revolutionized science, plus was a tireless advocate for the protection and restoration of the natural world.

I remember watching movies of her research in School as early as elementary, and sometimes in middle and high school. I remember seeing her in shows here and there featuring her as a special guest.
I knew with how long she had been doing what she did it was bound to happen sooner or later with her passing. Did not suspect it be this soon but I know she will be missed but never forgotten resting well forever in peace. Reuniting with chimps she's met and loved as close dear friends over the years that passed on before her during her legendary study with them.

I think the majority of my knowledge for Jane Goodall's living status was imparted by a rather... disreputable video. I too thought she had passed long ago.

She accomplished so much in her lifetime it would be hard to encompass it all. I did find a pertinent quote, however."When, in the early 1960s, I brazenly used such words as 'childhood', 'adolescence', 'motivation', 'excitement', and 'mood' I was much criticized. Even worse was my crime of suggesting that chimpanzees had 'personalities'. I was ascribing human characteristics to nonhuman animals and was thus guilty of that worst of ethological sins -- anthropomorphism."
