An absolute icon for sure, can't blame you for having him on top of your list. It's a shame he hasn't received a tight enough treatment, although the series itself is lacking in good scenes of this nature, so is no surprise. Would certainly love to see him face a classic distress, like a rail road track or a ticking time bomb situation.

A rail road scenario would be more fitting for a western, while a ticking time bomb is more on the secret agent story side a la James Bond.
Blacksad and his film noir scenario would be more lie into concrete shoes scenarios, mafia style.^^ Just my opinion.
