My favorite varmint returned after sundown to sniff out Honey Nut Cheerios and possibly an apple or two. He ignored the bits of toast with Miracle Whip. I put his age at two years old, as that's when the kits begin to fan out on their own. The family den is likely at the nursery a half-mile distant.
