A gift for my wonderful friend Bre, who fell in love with the Cyberpunk universe and wanted to be part of it. The story was made with his direction as well, please enjoy!
Bre is a beagle mix from an interesting upbringing. He grew up in a family that lived to serve in the Aegis military as long as his family history had record. Most of them served in the front-line, rifle in hand to settle disputes the corporation was hired to.
At a young age though, Bre showed an immense fascination with the technologies that Aegis employed it's troops with, particularly robotics and reconnaissance. In school he would elect to take extra curricular to learn more about the ins and outs of these advancements in military technology. Before prom he could take apart and put back together some of Aegis' most advanced drones running better than before!
When Bre graduated high school, he did just as everyone in his family did, joined the Aegis military. After excelling in basic and showing his prowess with robotics, Bre was given the role of Technical Specialist. His duties were to R&D, test, and upkeep the various techs Aegis were using. He was then deployed to aid in a dispute between a rival corp and Aegis in some east Asian territories that were struggling to keep their drones in the air.
The young man had spent a few years there, working to the bone like his family taught him. On his time off, what little there was, Bre would indulge in holos and games about heroes slaying evil and protecting those that hero loved most. Some moments when watching a rather extravagant vid with a glass of beer in hand, Bre wondered if he too was one of those heroes. He was proud to be part of the corporate military as his entire bloodline did, but something still felt strange in his gut time to time.
During his time out east, he had developed advanced sensors able to better detect EMP fields that the enemy had set up to limit their ability to recon, resulting in less drones being destroyed. Bre was given high praise from his superiors and rewarded him with promotions and access to more information regarding Aegis' tech and operations. He was also allowed to come back west, and work in the corporate base in Prospera. He took the opportunity without a second thought.
Bre loved his years in Prospera, basking in all the big city activity that he couldn't get growing up or in a sanitized military base. Clubs, brain dances, relationships, you name it! The young man finally felt like he could live! Although, it all had to be restrained when he went to his job at Aegis. Everything felt, uninteresting, easy, corporate. The amount of work that he could get done in an hour suddenly took days because now it needed to get through a field of red tape. Bre was just bored, sitting in his cubicle with nothing to do. Nothing to do but snoop around.
He began digging into the files that the company had given him access to, seeing the contracts that Aegis would take, as well as some of the goings on. It was there that he learned of what this corp was doing on home soil. Using the technologies that he helped develop, Aegis had been selling weapons and war tech to waring gangers in the streets, making Prospera and everywhere else they had set up unsafe so that they could be hired by these same cities to assist in "upholding peace."
Enough had finally been enough! Bre announced he would be retiring from Aegis effective immediately. He could not stand by while his research was being used against regular people. Bre went home to his apartment after resigning, feeling like he had finally begun to take his life back. As he shut the door and turned on the kitchen light, he felt a metallic chill hit his neck... It was the end of a suppressed Aegis Shadow pistol, he knew immediately. Slowly he raised his arms.
"I'm not armed, just take what you want and go."
"Sorry choom, 'fraid I'm here for you.. Sounds like you got a lotta juicy deets in that brain of yours, and someone wants those brains on the walls." The chilling voice spoke as a subtle click can be heard from the gun. Bre tried to quickly move away from the gun, but it was too late. The air suddenly felt thin, and cold. His back felt like it was on fire, until suddenly he hit the floor of his apartment, only black taking his senses..
Miraculously, Bre's eyes would clench and open, he immediately sucked in a breath of air then broke into a coughing fit! He looked around to find garbage piled on top of him, along with that burning feeling still in his back now moving to his chest. It was clear that he'd been shot at least once. Somehow though, he survived. He tries to lift the trash off him as the weight and putrid scent clouded his senses, but the seething pain kept him from doing anything more than slither through holes in the junkyard's pile.
Bre's mind wanted nothing more than to panic or yell for help, but his training had kept him focused. He looked around for any sort of tool that could help and was lucky to find the remains of what looked to be a robotic raptor unit that seemed to be salvageable. With desperation he crawled through sharp edges, twists of wire, and soft moldy bags of trash to the unit. He frantically inspected it, and with some quick thinking and ingenuity, managed to get the unit working! It's visor glowing to life as it requested a task from its master.
"Dig us out of here!" Bre commanded with his tiring breath, not realizing that how lightheaded he had been. He suddenly passes out to visions of the raptor unit clawing through the rubble with only one fully functional claw.
Eventually, Bre came to once again, this time he was able to breathe much easier without garbage and rubble on top of him. Alongside him was the raptor unit, it seemed.. Different from all the other ones he had worked on, this one seemed to show a bit more personality than the ones at base. Though the pain still shot up his back, he couldn't help but grit out a smile and thanked the unit as it helped him up to find medical attention.
Two years have passed since this incident, and Bre's old life had been completely taken away from him. Records show his cause of death to be "heart attack." This was of course a blessing and a curse, while for their safety he could never go back to his family and old life, it meant that he could start over. Bre went into the runner life, taking jobs using his technical prowess and military training. An ex-Aegis exec, Wilda Walter, has taken a liking to the ex-soldier too and established a working relationship. He could finally do what he wanted and be the hero that he wanted to be.

Aww! ^!^ He's a sweet looking beagle buddy. ^!^ (Reminds me of Daisy May, kinda. ^!^ ) And he's not cybernetic!?! Ooo!
Love his casually content expression, and casual cool outfit! ^!^ The red accents go well with his eyes. ^!^ A plain white t, plain jeans, and a plain black hat give him a nice wholesome vibe with that smile. ^!^ And help that jacket, and thus his eyes, really stand out. ^!^ His looks remind me a bit of Eleina and Axel's (from Lazarus) looks too. Hehe. ^!^ Mainly Axel.
Oooo! Ex-military family boy got a bit of a Tony Stark wake-up call. Survived, and broke out of his tomb with luck and ingenuity, nice! ^!^ Love his backstory! He's a good doggo, and wants to do the right thing. ^!^ And now he can! ^!^ Wonder how he does it? Flying drones and commanding bots while using weapons and martial training? Glad his brain's in tact too. He's got some powerful secrets in it and powerful capabilities with it. ^!^
