This entire script is pretty much just me going with the first thing that comes to mind and running with it.

Well, I typically find Fairy Types as something of a “counter meta”, with the Dark types that use Aerial Ace, or the Dragons that use Flamethrower against Ice types. It was a struggle combating those two types, especially against Grimsley’s Dark types.
It also should be noted that after Misty Explosion, Moonblast is the strongest “generic” Fairy-type move, despite its base power not at least 100+. Given that, I tend to find most Fairy types or moves lacking that pure power for the quick one-shot when travelling great distances between Centers and other rest areas without Fly.
Of course, with high levels and a type advantage against sneasel, this is a most acceptable scenario for a one and done attack with Fairy types.

Why, because of the ribbon? Both that and those shades Sylveon are rocking are actually held items, now that I realise it. Can’t tell what these items are, specifically, but I definitely remember seeing and picking up sunglass looking items in my PMD days. There were also definitely ribbons, bands and bow held items too.
