Shortly after I moved into my brother's house in Chino Hills, my Sister in law and my niece helped hook me up with cable TV in my little room. On the first day it seemed there was everything I wanted to see on, and I spent quite awhile just flipping through the channels, just to see what was on. All too soon the bloom fell off the rose as I discovered that the "Reality Shows" which I detested on the main networks were still going strong, and even worse than they were before. Still, It was great to see the likes of "Mythbusters" again.

There've been a few times when the commercial breaks were so long that I actually forgot what it was I was watching. I'd have to bring up the program guide then to remember!
Even my mom can't tolerate commercial breaks anymore, and hers was the first generation to grow up with television. She loves watching movies and shows on demand via U-Verse. For myself, I use Netflix!

Of course what is worse is where they have the programs sponsored by a particular company that says 'limited' commerical interruptions. You might get 20 minutes of program by such only to be blasted by 5 minutes of ads mainly for the program sponsor, I guess that is how they used to do tv shows originally.
I couldn't help but recall a line by the comedian Jeff Foxworthy when he was talking about growing up in the days when there were only a handful of channels on TV. Whenever an important News Break would come on it'd just about ruin his boyhood viewing. "The PRESIDENT'S ON EVERY CHANNEL!" He'd shriek. "WE'RE GONNA MISS FLIPPERRRRRR!!!"
I scarcely watch TV at all anymore aside from the local news and weather, then it goes right over to Food Network, unless Mythbusters or Storm Chasers is on. Of course, I already know everything gonna happen on Stormchasers because I chat daily with both Reed Timmer and Sean Casey.
