Cowboy Eternal wurde gefesselt und an die Leine gelegt
To conclude the list of rats in bindings, here we have Cowboy Eternal all tied up with his hands on the back and pulled along on a leash. Maybe he is forced to walk behind the Sheriff´s horse.
And here is my very first pathetic try to write a poem in english.^^;

I think you did plenty fine writing in English! Plenty of poems were done as yours has, no one spoke as we do now, over one hundred years ago, and no one did the same one hundred years before that.
For the quotation marks themselves, they're always atop the words in a sense! "Just like this!"
Though what cannot be seen like this is how they're shaped in more detail, they're like commas, the left half are in a position that make them look like floating 6's, while the other half are in a position that makes them look like floating 9's!
The best example I can make immediately is sort of like this: 66Like this!99
Though obviously you'd fill in the little "holes" in the numbers!

The beginning of your comment reminded me of the final words in H.P. Lovecraft´s story "The Rats in the Walls"
“Curse you, Thornton, I’ll teach you to faint at what my family do! … ’Sblood, thou stinkard, I’ll learn ye how to gust … wolde ye swynke me thilke wys?… Magna Mater! Magna Mater!… Atys… Dia ad aghaidh’s ad aodann… agus bas dunarch ort! Dhonas ’s dholas ort, agus leat-sa! … Ungl unl… rrlh … chchch…”
It is about atavism, the narrator evolves back from modern english down to beastlike noises.
As about quotation marks: In handwritten german the initial quotation mark is really set on the bottom line and ending one is on top.
Both markings on top are for modern machine written texts.

Oh wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow! Cowboy Eterna looks so *haaaaaaaandsooooome*, and so hot and sexy and manly! So big and buff and yet so helpless! He looks wonderful in those tight ropes, and his sexy cowboy outfit is doing him TONS of favors! :D I love how his chest-fluff is peaking out, I'd love to run my fingers through it.
Oh man, I'd love to see a cartoon series starring Cowboy Eternal, especially if he gets tied up and gagged every single episode!!! :D
And your poem is actually pretty good, especially since you're writing it in a foreign language for the first time! Amazing! :D

That's also a good idea! :D Lol, I remember this one old drawing you did where Eternal gets mistaken for a criminal and gets arrested; now I'm imagining Cowboy Eternal walking into some town, and the sheriff and deputy immediately walk up to him and cuff him, gagging him before he can protest. XD
Released? You ask, with pleading eyes?
A fool’s request, beneath these skies.
You robbed and cheated, spread your blight,
And stole the futures, dark as night.
This rope will hold, a steady friend,
Until your wicked journey ends.
No pardon waits, no gentle plea,
Just justice served for all to see!

You robbed and cheated, spread your blight,
And stole the futures, dark as night.
This rope will hold, a steady friend,
Until your wicked journey ends.
No pardon waits, no gentle plea,
Just justice served for all to see!
The rope will bite, as sharp as fang.
Am I - O god! - supposed to hang?
Endure would I, for certain times,
To pay in full for all my crimes,
To be exposed to scorching sun
Tied firm to stake, when judgement done.
Perfer suspension upside down.
I even would not show a frown.
