What better way to celebrate Fat Bear Week than by creating my own fat bear OC. Say hi to Park Baskoro (he/it). A half sun bear half Chow Chow coffee addict who works as an accountant for a high-class lounge and a fashion company. Also, yes, he's very gay.
Since sun bears originate from Southeast Asia and Chow Chows originate from China, I decided to also make him half Indonesian (on his father’s side) and half Chinese (on his mother’s side).
Personality-wise, think Allan Red from Smiling Friends (speaks with a flat affect). He’s perpetually tired due to overworking himself, so he drinks lots of coffee. He takes his job very seriously, often staying up for days while disappearing into his work.
He’s 4’11 (with poor posture), but he’s also extremely strong. Despite not showing much emotion, you’ll know when he’s angry when he “accidentally” rips the door off its hinges. It doesn’t help that his lack of proper sleep makes him grumpy and irritable most of the time.
On the few occasions he takes a break, his go-to is the bar at the high-class lounge. He’s friends with my lion OC Augustine (he makes him take breaks). He has a crush on my rat OC, Forest. The feeling is mutual, but their relationship doesn’t go that far due to his workaholism.
Special shout-out to GurluTheChair (Twitter and Bluesky) for being my main inspiration. I too fell for the suspenders propaganda. Also, short, angry men with bears really are adorable.
