These are Psitex forms created by Tem or The Template as she's known as and are support units meant to attack/defend for her, and have other uses, she sheds some of her biomass/psitex to create them. Though these are a lil different to other Psitex creations which are used as bioweapons on hard to conquer planets or against alien enemies which are big enough as factions to not immediately be destroyed by the VC Empire.
