I listened to lots of girly music this morning and this came out. He's waiting on a cute fur to share his Pocky with. In the meantime, he'll just be waiting here with it in his mouth like a dork.
Say hi to Sam again everybody.

hahahaha, I've become really frustrated w/digital because I thought it'd be a smooth transition for me, but I can't make smooth lines or decent color it seems, not like I can with traditional work. Sure I make more mistakes with traditional, but I have more control, or so it seems to me. I will unlock your secrets one day, tablet.
weirdly enough, I never thought of it as cheating so much as making it a faster process.

Yeah, it really does feel like you have so much more control with traditional. After all, your hand isn't going to randomly crash and need to restart, or lose any unsaved progress.
One thing I learned for smooth lines is to start out with a really, really huge picture. Like this one here, I did everything at 3000x3000 pixels, from sketching to colour and everything. Then when it's all finished, I resized it. It really does a lot for making the lines look neat. You have to get used to doing all your work up close at first, but it's not too bad.
