Getting those backgrounds down makes so much of a difference in the end. I've seen people who draw incredible characters but do nothing with the background and it leaves great art as a forgettable experience. ...but that doesn't always mean realistically precise detail. Most of my favorite pieces you've made have been low in realism and high in the abstract expression.

That said, I always love so much how when you go into these more detailed backgrounds, it still fits your style just the same and it feels like the characters naturally belong there. In all of them, the background seems like they were given full consideration from the very beginning, instead of something made separately as an after-thought to fill out the space.
