I love how if you play DND or see it's art, goblins are obnoxious and often ugly little craps, and then the instant anyone else grabs the pen even for a moment, you get goofy shortstack critters with ears bigger than their heads. It's an enigma, really. A very cute enigma, for that matter.
I agree (admittedly I'm not a fan of earlier editions deciding certain races are almost universally evil; it seems like lazy writing and I agree with an idea someone else had about having conflicts be based around differing cultural values, such as Goblins sharing everything and not having a concept of personal property or theft as a result).
pocket-sized paladin could actually come in handy for sneaking into places! if his build keeps him from being a righteous frontline fighter than she can instead be a righteous sneaky gobbo <3
i know who i'd be tossing to reach some evil cult's idol up on an elevated altar with that kinda build hehehe ~ <3

Oh, make no mistake, their party is definitely going to keep them around - if nothing else, they serve as a grim reminder of how far you can fall if you mess with the wrong magic!
There is no telling how long their righteousness is going to remain intact when pitted against that chaotic goblin nature, though!
