Dr. Flint DeStefano
Birthday: March 4th
A surgeon working out of St. Hector General Hospital, happily married to his husband, Inspector Clay DeStefano. While their respective jobs keep them both very busy, it has never gotten between them thanks to their shared passion for saving and protecting lives.
At first glance, most people would consider him far more easy-going and personable when put next to the rigid and taciturn Clay, but once he dons his scrubs and clocks in, he shifts into a very serious and detail-oriented personality. A perfectionist once he's holding the knife, he'll demand nothing less from anyone else in his operating theatre, barking orders and becoming something of a control freak. He gets results, though, and his success rate for life-saving operations is quite high.
While he would see Guy Noir in passing at the hospital, the two of them rarely interacted. When Guy's wife, Celeste, ends up on his table after being stabbed through, he's surprised to find that the wound, despite passing through her whole body, has already begun to heal, and she's awake and back on her feet within the day.
When Celeste starts acting as a superhero, Flint quickly becomes one of her supporters, one of the few things he and Clay distinctly disagree on. While Flint understands Clay's concerns, he believes the more people Celeste helps, the fewer he'll have to operate on, and to him, that's only a good thing.
- Highly-skilled surgeon with extensive cross-disciplinary experience. Able to fill several roles in the hospital in an emergency as needed.
- Deeply empathetic and always tries to see things "from the other side." Can lead to him "both sides"-ing at times in situations where he doesn't have a firm foot already planted.
-- Extra Trivia --
- His birthday, March 4th, is his husband Clay's birthday reversed. (April 3rd)
- His last name before marrying Clay was Thatcher. In a parallel Wild West-style universe, he reverts to this name after a rough split.
