This is one of my latest artworks (OC). His name is Ziriguidum, but you can call him Z.
"Ziriguidum" is a word with roots in Afro-Brazilian culture, especially in samba (a traditional Afro-Brazilian music and dance genre). It is believed to have originated as an onomatopoeia of the percussive sounds made by samba instruments like the pandeiro and tamborim, symbolizing the energy, joy, and infectious rhythm of Brazilian celebrations and dance.
Z’s personality also reflects this joyful, energetic vibe that inspired his name. For his character design, I was also inspired by Bongô, a character from a beloved Brazilian children’s show I watched growing up called Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum.
Z’s favorite things are: pizza, listening to reggae, and weed (not necessarily in that order 😅).
