You're laying in a grassy prairie, atop a small hill, under the shade of a tall tree, your back resting against it's tough, rugged bark, your eyes pearing throug the canopy of dancing leaves rustled by the wind. Your gaze wanders around the vast open space, watching the slow undulations of the tall grass under each powerful gust, observing the quick dashes of birds leaping from one branch to the other, taking in the peaceful rhythm and melodies of the wilderness around you. The scent of grass and leaves tickles your nostrils, intertwining with the sugary aromas of the blossoming flowers lining the hillside, forming a bilssful, soothing concoction.
Slowly your gaze drifts up toward the skies, at first following the course of a flight of birds, lingering behind to marvel at the magnifiscent azure blue of the vast imensity opening before you, losing yourself in the stunning colors of a clear spring day. In almost respectful silence you observe the slow drift of clouds lazilly floating by, finding yourself giggling at their odd shapes as they merged and scattered, showing no sign of rain, only of a splendid, peaceful and warm day. You lean back slightly letting your mind wander like your eyes, trying to find meaning in the shapes traveling the azure skies above you, your thoughts slowly loosing coherence as you begin to drift into a peaceful sleep.
Suddenly, the appeasing, relaxing silence is shattered, birds leaping for the skies in droves, their happy, cheerful thrills now panicked cries as they frantically fly away in all directions. A deep, ominous rumble fills the air, loud, deafening, even, impossible to ignore, seemingly distant yet so close at the same time, echoing throughout the azure skies, it's source impossible to locate. Standing up, eyes fluttering, groggy and confused you scan your surroundings, increasingly weary and concerned, unable to find the source of the sound. With each second it grows louder, reverberating endlessly in the open field, gaining in pitch and volume until you can't hear anything else but this ear-splitting roar combined with a glass-breaking hiss.
At last, when the sound becomes unbearably loud, the moment you feel your head is about to explode you spot it, a small dot emerging from a cloud, or rather tearing through the fluffy mass. At first small, barely distinguishable it quickly grows in size, it's shape more and more distinguishable in the blue canvas of the open skies, your eyes drawn to it like magnets, it's course now obvious; it is headed right for you. However, as it closes in you begin to relax, recognizing the unmistakable shape of an aircraft streaking across the skies on a low pass, only annoyed that it disturbed you, watching it fly by at break neck speed. Yet, inexplicably you find yourself still uneasy, unsettled even, as if something was amiss, not quite what it seemed to be, preventing you from relaxing, your attention still fully focused on the incoming plane.
You freeze, heart leaping in your chest, eyes bursting wide, jaw dropping on a silent, stiffled gasp, a wave of shock and horror washing over you, sending a cold chill down your spine. This, this is no ordinary plane, this is something very, very different and perhaps far worse; the realization hitting you like a physical blow, taking all the air out of your lungs. You stare in dismay, struggling to process what your eyes are showing you, watching with growing confusion as the plane roars closer, fear and curiosity creeping over you with every passing second. Although from a distance it looks like any other aircraft now you can see the details, or rather the four large, imposing clawed paws this creature sports, the ivory talons shining in the sunlight, contrasting against the dark black and purple fuselage.
You shudder, suddenly tensing, a cold sweat trickling down your spine, hairs standing on end under a sudden jolt of primal fear. As more of the aircraft comes into view more of his features are unveiled, revealing a wide, bone-chilling maw, the lips pulled back in a broad, predatory grin, razor-sharp fangs on full display, gleaming in the light. You gulp down, concern rapidly rising yet you find yourself unable to move, paralyzed, amazed and terrified at the same time, watching the claws curl, the predatory smile widen, the control surfaces adjusting for a dive as if he was ready to pounce. Then you see it, the source of your unease, those two sharp eyes homed right at you, never blinking, never breaking contact, sizing you up with a kind of interest and hunger that made you both uncomfortable and curious at the same time, unsure of the creature's intents but surprisingly eager to find out. Perhaps you won't run, perhaps you won't flee when he comes diving down for you, or if you do, perhaps you won't try too hard to avoid him, but whatever you do, be quick, he's coming right for you and he never misses his mark.

For those curious about aircraft this design is based of a yakovlev yak-28 bomber, pretty cool looking piece of soviet tech if you ask me.
