Painted commission from 2021.
I really struggled with this piece when painting the fur, figuring out the weird pommel on the sword, and the background / environment. It's meant to be mostly ambiguous for the background, and I was originally going to have a fire lit in front of him, but I was too car sick and frustrated to figure out how to paint fire again. Besides, having it be off-screen with the embers fluttering towards him adds a sort of raw, martial feel.
