To protest the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip by the Apartheid State of Israel, as well the latter's regime of apartheid and the growing settler violence in the Occupied West Bank and Occupied East Jerusalem, here's a little protest song that I spent all of two hours knocking together.
Sung to the tune of "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika" (the pan-Africanist liberation anthem of the ANC and one-half of the post-Apartheid "National Anthem of South Africa"), it is intended to relate the struggle against Apartheid in South Africa back in the day to the struggle against Israeli genocide, settler colonialism and apartheid of today. By 'Palestinianising' the lyrics (basically just replacing the word 'Afrika' with the word 'Palestina'),I have made the link between the two liberation struggles nice and explicit, or at least, that's what I hope.
This is actually my second attempt at a Palestinian liberation-cum-anti-Israeli genocide-slash-apartheid protest song, My first one was "It Don't Feel Like Christmas Time" back in December 2023. Unfortunately, I was forced to remove it from DeviantArt in early 2024 out of an abundance of caution after I was the victim of some particularly aggressive online hackers (most likely as a reprisal at the behest of the Israeli state) and because I hadn't saved it onto my computer, I can't re-post it. Suffice to say that I'm not making that mistake this time around! Let's hope I don't get hacked again.
Please feel free to use this song at marches, rallies, meetings, protests, wherever support for Palestinian liberation and opposition to Israel's overtly racist settler colonial regime of dispossession, genocide and apartheid is voiced! Better yet, why not film yourself and/or your mates singing it and post it on social media? Who knows. you might even go viral with it! :D Just don't share it with the Mossad, they won't like it (but then again, they are servants of a genocidal, fascist, settler colonial apartheid regime built on a foundation of ethnic cleansing and the supposed supremacy of European settlers over subjugated and dispossessed natives, so f*** 'em).

For the record, I've no idea who (if anyone) owns the rights to "Nkosi Sikelel' iAfrika" (if applicable). All I know is that (in terms of copyright, at least) I own nothing. I'm just a self-confessed dirty communist who likes to make a bit of pro-Palestine agitprop now and then.
