Apex regeneration explained
Some insight into how the Apex virus does its thing.
Wolves can nearly insta-absorb organic matter with their apex vines & spine's exotic matter processors. The Apex also enables the werewolf transformation with these processors. Just add more matter to grow big and beast-like, then suck it back in to turn back.
If a Wolf runs out of stored matter, or has all his processors destroyed, he can't regenrerate anymore. Lesser strains are killed when having their head lopped off, their processors tend to gather at the base of the skull. While Prime strains like Luca's have numerous processors all over their spinal cord. Ergo, super healing.
The processors can also store memories in the form of dna encryptions, so that's why Luca & Jamie retain their memory even after being beheaded. Stored memory gets constantly updated.
