Blender The Legend of Spyro 'Old Jewelry'
Seems they still fit nicely onto her, at least for now.

It's actually a combination of five things.
1. Spyro was shown (at least what we can assume to be a grown Spyro) to be a dragon the size of a Temple in A New Beginning scroll cutscene (those sepia ones). Obviously if he was as big as the temple he was sitting on and keeping watch, it would look extremely silly. But I did like the idea of him being considerably large. Sorta prophesied to be bigger than the usual dragon. But it's a legend that's told so it would be hard to confirm whether what Ignitus is telling is true or not.
2. He's the main protagonist of the franchise and I thought it would be fun to make light fun of that "Oh you're the hero? I thought you were going to be taller." trope. Likewise, Cynder is still the tallest dragoness, so it's not like she's short in general, she's just shorter than Spyro.
3. Spyro is usually depicted shorter or much shorter than Cynder from other fan-artists and I thought it could be neat to show the exact opposite.
4. Regarding this scenario here where Cynder is larger than Spyro, it is to show "passage of time" the easiest way for me. In other scenarios where Spyro is larger, we haven't seen Cynder wear her iconic jewelry, so that indicates (very flimsy I know) that that is in the past or at least happened in the past.
5. More regarding Cynder's overall "story". She has been in contact with two purple dragons in her life. Malefor is obviously a big dragon as well, but as we know, he's not the nicest purple dragon around, so she would probably have some animosity towards "Big purple dragon" so I thought it would be cute to show that the other purple dragon she's sharing her life with now, is just a lovable goofball that wants to protect her and make sure she feels loved no matter their size and height difference.
That's at least my reasons on why I have made Spyro larger than Cynder in general unless some specific time of passage has to be indicated.
