Wings of Freedom

Penance can manifest one or two of six wings. Each wing is a manifestation of a specific virtue or aspect of her being.


The Wing of Justice:
This wing grants Penance the ability to project blades or projectiles that can cut through almost anything. This is her primary offensive wing, used to deliver powerful, precise strikes against her enemies. When this wing is active, her physical attacks are imbued with a "smite" effect, making them especially potent against evil or corrupt entities.

The Wing of Mercy:
This wing creates a powerful defensive field around her and her allies. This is a purely protective ability that can block, deflect, and absorb physical and energy attacks. It is Penance's primary defensive wing, used to shield the innocent from harm. It also has a minor healing effect, soothing wounds and calming fear.

The Wing of Righteous Decree.
Grants her the ability to declare a temporary law over an area. When this wing is active, her commands become reality within a limited radius, roughly one mile. For example, "No magic shall work here," or "No rain shall fall". This is her most reality-bending and powerful non-physical wing. However, only one law can be active at a time. And it cannot affect organic matter or free will.

The Wing of Knowledge:
Allows her to project her senses across her kingdom and beyond, giving her a form of telepathy and omniscience regarding her people and their well-being. She can know of threats the moment they arise, locate people in need, and receive echoes of the past to understand her enemies. This wing is a reflection of her wisdom as a Queen.

The Wing of Vengeance:
Represents the destructive potential she had as a living weapon, now under her complete control. It can be used to unleash scorching blasts of divine fire, far more potent and destructive than her "smite" ability. This is used to utterly destroy things that are beyond redemption. The power is a controlled version of the "scorching flames" she once feared, now wielded for justice.

The Wing of Grace:
Grants her the ability to temporarily grant a measure of her power to others, bestowing a blessing of strength, healing, or courage upon them. It is the only wing that can affect others directly and positively, reflecting her role as a leader who lifts her people up.


Embody: Freedom
When Penance calls forth all six wings at once, she enters her full "Embody" state. This is a last resort, an act of supreme will and power that channels all six principles into a single, overwhelming form. She would have access to all six powers simultaneously. The sheer divine power radiating from her would be enough to cause terror in her enemies and awe in her allies.
