Amber comes from a proud lineage of electricity-based super-heroes dating back to World War II, when scientist Robert Charles "Shock" Gibson experimented on himself in an attempt to allow humans to store electricity in their bodies. While his descendants are of lesser renown, a tradition of mad science has led to fabulous wealth. You wouldn't know it by looking at her (talking to her, maybe) as Amber scoffs at the idea of being a trust-fund brat and is determined to build her own legacy from the ground up (though the occasional loan doesn't hurt).

Amber easily passes for a male, albeit a pretty one, in her normal outfit, but still identifies as a woman. She likes flirting with girls, especially if they think she's a guy, but doesn't take it very far unless she knows they're sapphic. Ironically, she doesn't otherwise like being mistaken for a man.
