Original design by Bastiel
This was for the same client who I did Bep, the Halo Jackal for. The reference image of her initial design (By Bastiel) was her pretty much naked, save for the bony plates on her hips, shoulders, whatever the head is, and the tail. I struggled terribly on her thigh armor but eventually figured out something that worked mostly in my head. While one of her defining features is her stomach, I didn't want to accentuate that part of her body, as I'd feel that'd be fetishizing and demeaning. Instead, I looked up medieval armor for reference that was made for people with a larger build and saw that they were just built to compliment the body underneath, rather than be like "hey this person has a big of a tummy so we're not putting abs like a Roman centurion here", if that makes sense.
I also still had to portray that she was "sexy" in some way, so looking to Kerrigan's Zerg armor from Starcraft 1 and 2 was a huge inspiration. Additionally, I wanted to make the waist cloth look to be in motion, since she was in a pretty lively pose to start with and I gotta say, pairing browns and yellows with purple is a little bit bold for the piece, but just enough to be relative to the leather straps on her armor (the kneepad and arm barding).
I had meant to put her out before Bep and probably a week ago when I did complete her, but I had been so bogged down with working on the batch of D&D character designs AND the Daylight Savings Time switch that I was completely in a tizzy. Honestly, I forgot what work I had done this cycle and in what order lol.

Thank you! I don't recall if "Fellhound Matriarch" is the exact name of the species since this was done a year ago, but I had fun designing her. I have no plans for her as this is a commission and not my character. The character belongs to Verybarytrem: https://www.furaffinity.net/user/verybarytrem
