Another face of my cast appears! And this time by
bcdbnd ! A zoroark oni who just so happens to be able to grow to roughly 1,600 miles tall (or roughly enough to cover half of the US if stretching from coast to coast)
Allow me to introduce to you all, Kimura! A very old soul who has happened to find herself in a strange yet welcome situation. Roughly 7,500 years ago, in a ancient village when they were only just starting to properly form, there were many a threat to the budding towns and villages across the land. One such village being known as "Tsubashi" which was home to only 100 people, one of which was a certain 20ft tall zoroark. As the biggest person in the village, whenever a monster attacked or something bad was happening, Kimura was the one to either fight it off or solve the issue. One day, during a fight with a oni, she had been badly injured and only just able to slay it through the use of her illusions, and biting off one of its hands before it was killed. As she was looked after by the villagers and slowly nursed back to health, everyone began to notice changes starting to occur.
They started small as Kimura's claws seemed to grow sharper, her body stronger, and her hair much more noticeably more longer. Thinking nothing of it at the time as she took the oni's armor and weapon for herself to better protect the others, life continued. The village grew in size... and so did Kimura. As the town crossed 1,000 in number several years later, Kimura suddenly found herself growing to 1,000ft tall! Naturally causing quite the panic as she grew right in the middle of the town-market, the Zoroark quickly found herself having to dodge stepping on people and homes with mixed success as she hurriedly moved to where the local village shrine was built and where thankfully no-one else lived. As confusion and worry began to spread, so did a realization that somehow the Zoroark had been turned into a Oni as well! And now seemed to have activated a curse placed on her by the very one she had slain years ago.
With every person that lived in Tsubashi only strengthening the curse's power, it seemed that the more the village grew in population, the more Kimura's appearance would become monstrous and grow to destructive size. Her hands even turning a permanent crimson red while her head now sprouted demonic horns to mark her new permanent self. Retreating into the woods surrounding the shrine in fear of what she had become as a new and growing hunger began to overtake her, Kimura awoke the next day to several villagers having come to her for aid as another monster had appeared. With instinct taking over her as she rushed back to the village, the beast was only just the size of her hand when she arrived. Grabbing it up in a instant with a surprised gasp, the Zoroark felt her stomach growl as she looked over the house sized monster... with a reluctant shiver of disgust before opening wide and swallowing, she was not at all expecting cheers from the village she now loomed over. Smiling weakly as she carefully took a seat next to her home, she asked everyone she could to see if they could break the curse placed upon her. Their efforts unfortunately were a utter failure in breaking the spell as a new plan was developed instead as Kimura continued to defend her home and its people, even after her new change.
With her hunger seemingly meant to have her start eating those she was supposed to care for, the village brought her a whole cart of food to eat instead! And for her home, the old shrine would become her new living quarters after a renovation project was formed. As time progressed more and more however, rumors of the giant Zoroark began to spread, and people began to gather to be under her safety and protection faster than they could build. 1,000 became 5,000. 5,000 became 10,000! A full 20 years had passed since it had all began and Kimura was now being measured in miles as she could likely lift the entire village with some effort! And another part of the curse was becoming clear, Kimura had completely stopped aging and had even regressed to her prime years in terms of peak physical state. This eternal youth would seemingly last until Tsubashi was either abandoned, or extinct from the Oni's intention to have her eat everyone there.
And to Kimura's credit, she was doing everything in her power to resist her urges as she tried to search for ways to break or circumvent the curse, even trying unsuccessfully to try and eat less each day. With reluctance, she told the village that she would leave in search of a way to try and fix this supernatural mess and promised to return the next year. Yet even after she had left with clear evidence of her life, when she had failed to arrive back the following year, many began to doubt if she had existed. Years became decades, and decades became centuries since she had seemingly vanished into thin air. Only after 700 years since she had disappeared, her legend had been degraded to a simple children's story as many now living in Tsubashi, Kimura returned in a display that would be remembered until time itself came to a end. It was right as a rather rude individual was about to destroy her shrine home.
As a massive and ghostly green flaming hand grabbed them up as a far less monstrous and only 20ft tall Oni stepped out from the woods, Kimura made her return very clear. If someone so much as ever dared to threaten her home again, she would give them ample time to apologize for their actions inside of her stomach, proving her point as the would-be arsonist was swallowed alive right in public without hesitation. Following her display as the crowd ran in fear to tell others that she was indeed real and had returned, Kimura made certain no one was still present before letting the girl she had eaten back out and giving her a very firm warning that she wouldn't be so kind if she caught her in the act again. And as punishment, she would instead become the first shrine maiden to help in caring for Kimura's home and cleaning it up after her absence. As it turned out, it seemed Kimura had found a unknown aid who had helped her find a loophole in her curse. Sure she still felt the ever present want to eat people... but there was nothing stopping her from learning a way to keep them safe inside her without digestion, or learning how to create her own predscape so that she could give a playful taunt to anyone who tried to do something they weren't supposed to!
Time continued ever onward as 700 years became 7,000 and Kimura has settled nicely into her now regular life as the "legendary oni of Tsubashi"! Meanwhile, the only ones that know the truth behind the local legend are the various descendants of the first shrine maiden to aid in caring for Kimura as she keeps herself hidden inside her shrine home, the caretakers being the only ones allowed to see her when she isn't using illusions to walk around in public and avoid notice. Of course, now with Tsubashi being a mega-city the likes of NYC, or Gotham, or Tokyo, tourists have tried to investigate the local "myth" by themselves to various degrees of success and have become Kimura's favorite way to both indulge her more devious side with various tricks to keep the legend alive, and if they get too close to figuring out the truth or to the various relics she guards inside her shrine as part of the deal with her unknown benefactor... well, they get to have a private show from the Oni herself! Weather or not they can convince anyone that they aren't crazy or actually got eaten is not her issue~
