Kai gets some extra love with a little headshot, because he is very nice and comfy. ^-^
Another piece from sykamoor here! They capture such simple but effective expressions and feelings, Kai isn't doing anything crazy or expressive or generally 'active' here, and yet... there is so much being communicated in this calm look. A slight bit of a cheerful face, although he is not actively making the choice to smile. His eyes are alert, glowing a slight bit in their fiery way - but as opposed to a forest fire, it's rather as calm as a warm fireplace glow. It's one of my favorite aspects of his design, that dichotomy between destructive blazes or comforting warmth.

And of course, the coloring style! This piece was a part of Syka's experiments with a more paper-ish and quick style of headshots, and I am SO honored to have caught one from them! Although I redesigned a few touches like his exact nose-scale shape to be sharper, a great amount of his anthro features were based off this very headshot. The long neck, the wild mane, the style of his eyebrow and jaw spikes-! A very formative piece for Kai, effective but simple.
