Don't blame yourself hun <3 like the other comments imply, she lived a long life with you, it would have happened eventually. Sad fact but its true regardless of how much it hurts :( Just know she's happy where she is, and she's watching after you <3 I lost one of my favorite pets, Winter the cat, so short in his life, he wasn't even a year old yet :( It still hurts me because he was ran over in the neighbor's driveway, and wasn't discovered until a day later. You just can't imagine the horror and pain it caused me to find him laying there, and how long it took me to physically be able to get him off the driveway x__X I'll spare you the major details. These things happen, some sooner than others. At least you had so many years with her
Its really sad about Winter. Im sorry v.v
We still havent decided about getting a new member of the family yet, Abbie doesnt seem to get on with other cats. My sister has 2 dogs now and we have to look after them quite often. My mum did have her thought set on a kitten, but Im afraid the one she wanted died a week ago. I dont think I can take any more heartache,
*sighs* No matter what any one says I'll still feel guilty about Lassie.

I'm so sorry that your dog passed on. She most likely lived a wonderful life with you. Don't blame yourself for her death. It happens all the time, sadly and is always very sad when it does occur. On a related, but non-related note, my grandmother passed away also. It may seem cold-hearted to say this, but at least she is no longer suffering and at least she is not languishing in some hospital with nurses wiping her butt for her in a nursing home. So, think the same of your dog. But this will take time to pass and hopefully you will be left with happy memories. I hope that this does not take too long and please don't ever say or even think for a moment that you failed her.
For a few years we really didnt get on, I think thats what hurts the most. I failed her there
Im sorry to here that, my grandmother died earlier this year. She was in a nursing home for 12 months and was not well at all, it was very depressing going to see her there =(

Roughly 13 years is quite a while. They say a year for us is 7 dog years. 7*13=91 years.
91 years is quite a life, no matter what way you look at it. You did lassie proud, riok. Do not morn over her death...she will always be with you.
Cheers to Lassie and how she changed so many lives.

I know x.x what gives a human the right to decide when something will die. *burns them* Watching her die haunts me every day, worse now then it was back then.
Anyways, I cant keep looking in the past, even though I dont really have a future.
Thankyou, it means a lot
