With the July Patron-voted artpiece finished in mid-August, I could move on to the August one posted in September- this one came out on the Aozora Patreon late last month, but for regulars this is probably the first time you're seeing it.
As Yako collects and absorbs other Phantom Rubies into himself, not only does the impact of his powers expand, but the scope of them too. Initially he'd created his 'Nightmare' minions (https://www.deviantart.com/azure-lionheart/art/Yako-s-Minions-Mobius-Returners-AU-Sheet-1-1101058032) from condensations of dark mist that gathered from people's negative emotions- but when a Mobian is vulnerable to the darkest sides of their soul, they might find a mask of their own sealing itself over their face, stealing away their autonomy and making them into one of the Nogitsune's obedient puppets, releasing the same miasmal smoke that follows Yako wherever he goes.
For a girl like Crystelle, though, stoking those dark fires isn't too hard to accomplish...
