Milo and Tanu, two of the Vancouver Aquarium's sea otters, display rafting for an audience and soak up the adoration. If you've seen the YouTube video of 'otters holding hands,' you've seen Milo - he was in that with Nyac, an Exxon Valdez rescue who passed away in 2008. Since Nyac died he was mostly in the Aquarium's main otter display on his own as he didn't resocialize well, but it appears Tanu, who's younger and female, and he get along pretty well now.

Indeed.. last year I asked one of the trainers why he was in the front tank solo, and they explained that he just wasn't good with other otters right now, so Tanu and Elfin were in the back tank together. They'd tried Tanu for a bit, then moved her back again, and Elfin's extremely territorial as well, so it seemed to be a tough situation to sort out. They did say Milo was doing well on his own and the trainers were spending time keeping him occupied, but Milo cuddling with Tanu is a whole lot cuter than him cuddling with a ball. *g*
