Guy Noir
Birthday: Sept 1st
Guy Noir is an average doctor living an average life. He lives well, enjoys tennis, and though he has very few friends, he dearly loves his wife, Celeste.
Guy Noir does not exist.
In truth, he is a man on the verge of unlocking powerful new technologies through chemistry. His remarkable talent, however, had attracted the attention of a powerful and dangerous organization who wanted to put his skills to nefarious uses. He fled, burning his laboratory to the ground, changing his identity, and hiding his research from the world. But he still felt drawn to continue it in secret, keeping a new lab hidden in a cabin in the woods near Lake Winter.
Though he lived this way for many years, working a new job and finding love, his borrowed time eventually ran out. He'd been found. The man the world knew as Guy Noir was found dead in his own home, apparently the victim of a burglary gone wrong. The inspectors who investigate his crime scene, however - Sky Miller and Clay DeStefano - quickly realize that not all is as it seems. And though he had hidden his true identity from his wife, Celeste, before his death, he leaves her a letter with a set of coordinates, a key, and a book of matches. Guy trusted her to make sure his research didn't fall into the wrong hands, even though he had spent their lives together keeping the truth about his identity from her.
But it's his true identity that ends up saving Celeste's life, when his final formula, "sequence digamma," is spilled upon her when she's attacked by the same assassin who took his life. With incredible new powers, Celeste must now find out who was out to kill him, and how much of their relationship - if anything - was real.
-- Extra Trivia --
- Guy's birthday, Sept 1st, is a reference to the release date of the game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which also prominently features a character living under a false identity in order to go on the run from an organization that is out to kill them.
