This was sort of my trial by fire with plushmaking since Declan is pretty intricate. >_<
But I wanted to make some plushies of the Aussie birb dad to sell alongside copies of his books at conventions. This was my prototype and I learned a lot, so the ones that will be sold should look even better than this.
He is based on a couple of Choly Knight's patterns that I frankensteined together and modified. He includes both drybrushed and airbrushed markings. For clothing, he wears a button up shirt with his signature aboriginal pattern that I had custom printed, jeans and his typical camouflage briefs.
Since there was a bit of confusion in the last plush I uploaded, I'm not 'completely' new to plushmaking. I played around with it about ten years ago and picked it up again earlier this year. I made a few plushies that made it into Anthrocon's art show back in July and they all sold. I have a lot of fun making them and their little clothes, so I kept at it and even picked up a refurbished embroidery machine to make the eyes and details more pretty. I'm using CholyKnight's embroidery patterns as well... for now. I hope to figure out how to make my own patterns for my machine to make them a little more 'my own'.
He's missing his bushman's hat... but I do have a pattern to make it, so I will make it for him eventually.
